Event #1: “We are Proud to Present”

On September 29th, I was able to attend an on campus play titles “We are Proud to Present.” The beginning of the play was very comedic as most of the audience was continuously laughing at the controversial jokes that were being made. As the play went on, there was a shift in the tone of the actors and the audience. The play aimed at the dehumanization of African actors and focused on the power dynamics between European armies and the Africans being colonized. Overall, this play was extremely educational and I am very glad I was able to attend and become even more educated on such controversial topics.
