On November 7th I was able to attend a campus event featuring author Nnedi Okorafor. Nnedi Okorafor discussed her two published books titled “Noor” and “Binti.” I really enjoyed how she was able to open up to the audience about her personal life and why she chose such powerful characters in her books. She brought up the topic of disabilities and how as an all start athlete she was diagnosed as paralyzed which is why she talks about disabilities in her books. Overall, she was a very educational author and it was a pleasure to hear the deeper meaning behind certain characters and topics in her books.
